Live two hour show discussing US Soccer, MLS, NASL, Red Bull NY & the US Open Cup. Every Tuesday 2PM EST-11AM PST

To my loyal readers of the Feuersteins Fire blog and to my friends here at CSRN. I’m afraid that this will be the last post I write on this section of the website. I will be moving on permanently writing for Major League Soccer Talk from here on out. I would like to thank Gary Richards, Graham Bell, Peter Brown & Diana “Main Game” Germano for giving me the opportunity to start my football reporting career with them.

I am also grateful to meet & chat with so many wonderful people and not so bright (I’m talking about DC United supporters :-P) That I have associated myself with thru the Around The League in 90 Minutes show. I have tried to make CSRN the number one site and Network on the discussion of the World’s Favorite Game that is football/soccer.

I hope that my passion, energy and desire has led you good people to understand where I am coming from as well as my genuine honesty for the sport to get bigger & better in the USA. Thank you very much for your time & your comments that have been wonderful to read.

Take care everyone and maybe one day I might return to CSRN, but for now I am moving on to a new stage in this short career that I hope will get longer & better.

Sincerely Yours

Daniel Feuerstein

Former Assistant Producer of Around the League in 90 Minutes.

Click this link or the “Red Bull Arena” Tab at the top of the page to see brand new construction pictures of Red Bull Arena. Major League Soccer has already announced the home openers for all MLS sides including the expansion side Philadelphia Union who will open their season at the home of the NFL’s Eagles Lincoln Financial Field as their stadium in Chester won’t be available until later in the season.

But for those of you who are ready to see a match at Red Bull Arena, Saturday Night March 27th 2010 will be the first home match for RBNY at Red Bull Arena against the Chicago Fire. 7:00PM is the start time and the entire country can see it on ESPN 2.

Changed my handle to DFeuerstein. Please follow me on Twitter as I will be in the press box of Giants Stadium as Former US Men’s National Team and former DC United & Metro defensive midfielder Richie Williams will have another shot as the Interim Head Coach of Red Bull NY.

This Wednesday you can follow my tweets thru Twitter. Join the crowd to have a conversation as the USA tries to steal points down at the Estadio Azteca to qualify for the World Cup. CSRNFeuerFire is my handle.

Once again you can follow my tweets thru Twitter as I will be reporting from the press box at Giants Stadium for Red Bull NY’s match in their 2nd leg match of the Qualifying Round. CSRNFeuerFire is my handle.

As I have been saying ever since I deemed the MLS Season over for RBNY I was targeting this tournament to be the last chance for the club to have any salvation to save themselves for any form of ridicule in 2009 and they have done so in their first leg match down in Marabella, Trinidad against W. Connection.

It was a decent start to the first half but a bit rocky as W. Connection had the advantage of getting some chances, yet they kept putting themselves offsides. But Red Bull would get the better end of the first half as they started to create some chances of their own. But once again their old habits crept back in with the last five minutes of the first half to allow their opponents a chance to score a goal. A Corner Kick in the 40th minute for W. Connection and with Cepero sizing it up for the grab Juan Pablo Angel came out of nowhere to head the ball away, but accidentally he headed the ball into the crossbar that bounced several times on the ground, off the bar and so on till Jonathan Fana Farias taps it in.

But when the second half started out of nowhere RBNY turned it on. Their latest pick up from Austria & sister club Salzberg as Ernest Obster got a cross from Dane Richards. He attacked, took a rip and somehow either off the defender or off a bad patch of grass the ball got past Marvin Phillips and the important away goal was scored and they equalized the scoreboard. In the 60th Minute more good luck finally came RBNY’s way as Alfredo Pacheco who looked good in his first few matches in league play decided to take matters into his own hands. Obviously he was far away from the area and he was looking to cross it inside the area. But the hard cross was low to the ground and defender Elijah Joseph stuck out his right foot that deflected the ball and it rainbowed over the keeper into the net. Out of nowhere it’s two to one RBNY and the miracle turn has started to come alive. Yet mistakes cost Red Bulls the lead and Hughton Hector converts W. Connection’s equalizer in the 72nd Minute off the far post and in the net. The final whistle blew with both sides knotted up at two a piece.

But the most important thing that everyone needs to remember is that RBNY converted two away goals and when both clubs come up to the Meadowlands if RBNY gets a scoreless draw or a one all draw they will hold the advantage over the Trinidadian side. Right now they are another ninety minutes away from entering the group stage with Pumas UNAM, Comunicaciones & the other goal aggregate qualifier between Honduras Real Espana & Costa Rica’s Liberia.

In this horrible season that RBNY has played with only two victories and a total of ten points this is the time for these two weeks that they can salvage any sort of pride outside the MLS Regular Season. As we all remember the victory over Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference Semi-Finals at Rio Tinto Stadium got the club into the MLS Cup Final last season and entrance into the 2009-10 CONCACAF Champions League.

With the loss to the Columbus Crew in the Cup Final RBNY enters the tournament in the Qualifying Round drawn with in Group D and their opponents in the Qualifying Round with Trinidad & Tobago’s W.Connection. For the supporters to forget about this horrible MLS Season it’s up to RBNY to score more goals than their opponent as well as earn alot of away goals on this coming Thursday night to somehow win next Wednesday at home to get into the group stage.

After what’s been going on with the club this year my feeling is that Osorio could be fired early by Red Bull if they are eliminated from the Qualifying Round, but if he does find success and gets into the Group stage I still think he will be fired because the club didn’t have a great regular season and at the same time never repeated to get back into the playoffs as well as earn a spot to get back into the next tournament of the Champions League.

Let’s hope that these next two matches will be the turnaround for the club for a small moment and forget their troubles in league play. It’s time to get the supporters back behind the club yet they are already looking to chop off the heads of Jeff Agoos & Juan Carlos Osorio.

Hello everyone. This Sunday Afternoon, please follow me on Twitter as I will be posting commentary thru CSRN’s page on Twitter. My handle will be CSRNFeuerFire. Please follow me and root on the USA for a third consecutive Gold Cup championship.

The big return of David Beckham back to Los Angeles was thought to be a major celebration, but in fact it was a large and angry bunch of supporters that wanted him gone from the squad. Everywhere in the Home Depot Center there were signs by fans calling Beckham everything in the book and of course they were clean words.

Yes it was a two all draw against A.C. Milan, but the main attraction was in the stands and sadly David Beckham not acting like the professional that he is suppose to be went towards the corner of one of the major supporters groups and actually started to jaw away with some of his fans. He actually begged one fan to come out from the stands and start a fight with him and sadly the fan did what Beckham asked. Security came and grabbed the fan to prevent anything from happening to the perfectly sculpted face of David.

Even though the cheers did drown out the boos at the end of the match I believe the LA fans showed what we all believe who truly supports this league & our National Team. We are not happy if a certain player who is a household name all over the world like Beckham betrays us the way he did. If he feels that what he decides is more football reasons than real reason, then he just found out that his football reasons means absolutely nothing.

I applaud all the LA Galaxy supporters with the exception of the one fan who took Beckham’s bait and went after him. I am proud of all the signs, their response and to also tell A.C. Milan that what they did as part of the whole move by Beckham that they heard how the LA fans felt. Sooner or later we who support the game in the USA and support our league has to inform these people that we aren’t fooled nor expect that it’s two easy to just come here for a year or two and then demand to go somewhere else and never come back.

It’s a happy moment in supporting our league and to tell the world that we are not going to be taken advantage of anymore. Great job Los Angeles & great job LA Galaxy supporters. You showed the world how you really felt when the traitor David Beckham left for Milan and stayed there for an Italian vacation.
